Worried your brand is bland?

I work with founders to introduce custom illustration (no AI slop) into their merch, event, and digital worlds so they stand out against the cliches of their competitors.

I hear it all the time...

"Our brand is boring."
"Our competitors don't care about design, but we do."
"We're stuck with no creative bandwidth."

You've never had a better moment to rebel against the cliches of your competitors. Manually Rendered Results (MARR) is an illustration-led studio for founders who are serious about revenue, through being recognizable, memorable, and most importantly, human.

Whether through limited-run merch, an event experience, or expanding your brand into the future, together we can find and claim your territory.

The
Process

I follow the same five steps for every project. Steps 01 and 02 are the most important as they set up a smooth execution, hence they make up over half the process.

Apart from our initial call, all communication happens via Slack, with designs presented via Adobe and Loom.

01 Discovery
5% of project timeline

Discovery is the process by which I learn about your business and ideas. I then use this to form the directions I present in step 02.

This call lasts 30-60 minutes depending on the scope of the project.

02 Concept
50% of project timeline

This is where most of the time goes. I work in sketch form to present two conceptual directions alongside my creative thinking and points of inspiration. These are drawn loosely, with enough detail to understand the big idea.

From there I redraw the chosen direction to include more details and present. We only leave this phase once you've signed off.

Additional initial concepts to choose from available at $500 each.

03 Execution
30% of project timeline

Once you've signed off I execute the digital version of the design(s). This is where additional details are added, colors added, and mockups of the design(s) are presented.

04 Revisions
10% of project timeline

A round of revisions is always included at this point, and because we've started broad and slowly honed in on the direction, revisions are often limited. These can include selecting other/additional colors, refining details, and swapping out text.

05 Delivery
5% of project timeline

I prepare and hand off every file, organized and named. For merch, that means going direct to the printer, reviewing proofs, and making sure nothing gets lost in translation.

For brand and web, that means files your team can actually use, and a walkthrough so you can run with it without me.

"Daniel brought our brand to life with hand-drawn illustrations and a crisp, memorable mark. Now that AI slop is everywhere, this human touch helps us stand out from the rest."
